Fewer hours in traffic, more time with family, more open space and recreational opportunities; housing that is both affordable and close to work; healthy cities, towns and suburbs with a vibrant and diverse mix of shopping, dining and entertainment; air and water of the highest quality; and a landscape our children can be proud to inherit.

The Silicon Valley Conservation Council is comprised of community, business, environmental and government leaders working together to create just such a place.

Preserving spaces means protecting our unique natural beauty, farmland and lifestyle by reining in urban sprawl. The places we strive to create are safe, comfortable, interesting, walkable, inviting, "real" neighborhoods and lively cities, with a range of housing choices, near transit, jobs, stores, schools, churches, and recreational areas, and offering a distinct sense of "place" and community.

Through smart growth and conservation, the Council initiates progress towards greater prosperity for Silicon Valley.
