Community
Silicon Valley is a natural treasure, one which we are fortunate to call home.
The Silicon Valley Conservation Council bridges the gap between commerce and conservation by focusing on community. At the end of the day we are, each of us, individuals with aspirations for ourselves, our families and our communities. We are the moms and dads, the sons and daughters, for whom we wish economic prosperity and the best of environments in which to live.
Society advances on the strength of community: people sharing ideas and resources to reach common goals.
At the heart of smart growth are vibrant, livable communities. Special places that feature a variety of housing opportunities, closer to job centers and transportation, yielding shorter commutes, that in turn yield more personal time to invest in family and civic activities and thereby fostering a sense of identity within our communities; a "nice place to live", a place that we are proud to call home.
